I recently took a bit of a trip out of province to Revelstoke, B.C. on the Suzuki Boulevard. This is a big V-Twin cruiser that is essentially a “couch on wheels”. It’s comfy, got a lot of gadget upgrades and eats up the miles with little effort. Every where you look it seems like a postcard. On the trip out, I gained over 5200 meters of elevation with all the trips through the mountain passes.

Once west of Roger’s Pass, things looked greener and even more beautiful. First day kicked off with an amazing ride next to the Columbia River on some sand flats. Once off the flat, we climbed clear up into the snow line. The sights, ride and experience was incredible. Jay Morrison was my tour guide, shot some amazing photos and to boot, he’s a fantastic rider and coach.

The view from up top was breathtaking!

The next day we kicked it off by going on a short hike that gained some pretty impressive elevation in short order. I haven’t been doing cardio as much as I had in the past, and I could feel a bit of thump in my chest as I had to push myself a bit. The view, once again, was worth it.

Later that day, we rode through a National Park and then up towards Mica. Another incredible ride that is worth doing again!

I urge you to get out, see some country and maybe step outside of your comfort zone and do something different. Always be hungry to learn, always be humble enough to be taught as I learned from a young friend this week, “Everyone has something to teach you if you’re willing to listen. From outlook on life from a 5-year old to wisdom from the elderly. Always be willing to listen and to learn.”
