The other day, I picked up one of the Acer Aspire One machine and I’ve got to say, I’m very impressed with this little unit. For those of you that don’t know what it is, check out the details over here and the image below.
This is a snappy little machine with a 1.6GHz CPU with HyperThreading (shows as two logical cores), 1GB of DDR2, 160GB HDD, a webcam and a nice 8.9″ screen that runs at 1024×600 resolution. This is a beautiful little machine that I’m happy to take to service calls, for simple web surfing and even blogging. While the keyboard is a little small at first, it took be about 1 hour to get used to the cramped keyboard and typing at 50 wpm with 95+ accuracy.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a replacement for a full-sized laptop for many people, but it is a nice choice for casual surfing or if you’re looking for an internet connected device. I’m loving it and I’m sure there will be more posts to follow.
