I used your page to remove and re-oil the fan. It obviously took some time for you to do that and I made a donation to you for it. BTW in my printer the fans were different, so I just removed and reoiled the one fan and it seems to have fixed the SMPS fan error message - at least so far. And even if it doesn't work permanently, I still appreciate your pictures, steps given, etc.! Samsung should hire you!
Happy New Year!

The smallest things make the biggest difference. Got the printer to work and got the wife smiling again! Thanks a million! Your article makes me out to be a tech guru... (double edged sword in any case). Sent you a token of my appreciation. Keep up the good work, and remember what your kindergarten teacher always said, "Sharing is Caring!"...

Great success! I appreciate the article, good work. My fan wasn't throwing an error message however; it was making alot of noise. I disassemled the machine and realized the screw was loose. I then proceeded to lubricate the fans as instructed. I came across the article by searchin CLP-600n,
without this info I would have never taken the printer apart to investigate.

Great article. I didn't want to go the firmware route either. Ordered the fan as the poster above stated from samsungparts.com (which is J&J Intl). Total cost shipped =$23.48 and arrived in 2 days.

Only thing I needed to do was to wrap some velcro tape around the outside of the fan housing to make it seal correctly inside the housing unit inside the printer.

Replaced it using the steps above. Back in business!

Thanks Ben!

Yes indeed, GREAT article, and thanks for taking the time, and good pics for this fix. (retired tech instructor), GOOD JOB!!!

The fan may be ordered (if you must replace it), by calling J & J International at 1-800-627-4368, according to Samsung Support.

Part # JC31-00012C Fan DC Inverter
It's a 60MM, 24Vdc, Aluminum frame with a transistor w/ speed sensor. (Made by ADDA, but with a special mount for Samsung.)

Cost-$15 to $20 + shipping.

Hey Kevin, you don't want to download the firmware and apply that "fix" anyway. It will disable the fan monitoring and will eventually overheat and kill your entire printer.
